I was flipping through some magazines yesterday and happened upon this great bedroom. I've always loved the old folding screen as headboard trick, but this also solves the problem of not being able to hardwire your sconces into the wall. Attaching them to the screen eliminates the long, pesky pole that those of us who rent are very familiar with, hiding all the nasty bits behind the screen for a cleaner look. I'm kind of obsessed with half-height screens at the moment and thinking of building one myself to hide our unsightly air conditioning unit in the living room. Looks like I'm in for another trip to my local lumber store this weekend. Stay tuned...
